Making Love By The Flight Of The Firefly Poem by Gloria Comingore

Making Love By The Flight Of The Firefly

The sun starts it journey downward.
On rays of red and gold.
Moonbeam dance, to the rhythm of the twinkling stars.
As you and I make love by the flight of the firefly.

Our love is stronger now than when it began.
It pulls at my heart, as it always has.
Our love continues to grow.
As we make love by the flight of the firefly.

As we continue to make love, throughout the moonlight.
There is no one else in the universe, but the two of us.
As we glisten with sweat, as it mingles with the grass.
As we make love by the flight of the firefly.

As we move as one, our hearts beats faster.
Like a hummingbird paused in flight.
As our hearts and souls become as one.
As we make love by the flight of the firefly.

I like the imagery of making love by the flight of the firefly and the image of the hearts beating faster like a humming bird suspended in flight. Well done.
