Makes Things Right Poem by Ray Hansell

Makes Things Right

We know when we hit a nerve
By the way someone replies
You can hear it in their voice
Or, read it in their eyes

But since I can not see you
Or hear it in your voice
Then you have left me
With only one choice

I read it in your response
It came across loud and clear
At that very moment
How I wished you were near

I'd thank you for your kind words
I'd hold you with my hands
I'd hold you so you'd feel
The soft and gentle side of this man

Words can convey so very much
When we speak or write
But nothing ever says as much
As a hug, it just makes things right
