Make It Stop Poem by Jacob Saunders8

Make It Stop

Thoughts that didn’t seem to end
The cliff is just around the bend
My mind is telling me to end it
My soul telling me never to quit

The pain deep in my soul
My heart it almost stole
It wouldn’t help when I smoked a spliff
So close I was to driving off the cliff

My brain is a curse or a gift
I’m still waiting for my outlook to shift
It took several weeks to think better
Because I did almost write the letter

It would have destroyed my family
This world I would have left sadly
But I knew the pain I would end was so small
And the pain I’d create much more when I hit the wall

I’m glad the road home was not long
Because now I know that’s where I belong
