Magician Of My Yesterday Poem by Barbara Nixon

Magician Of My Yesterday

Rating: 5.0

Magician Of My Yesterday

I have witnessed thine every colour
hues that blend and merge
visible only to a lover's eye
beloved rainbow of splendour,
enticing daydreams,
of what might have beens.
Thine elusive treasure,
sparkling, bewitching, teasing
rivulets of unfulfilled desires
cascading hauntingly,
murmuring thy sweet serenade,
echoing beseechingly
through darkened caverns
of my fragile mind.
Senses awakening, tingling,
swirling cherry blossoms
whispering thy divinity
on balmy sun blessed breeze.
My magician of colours
spellbound, childlike joy,
cocooned in thy lustrous array,
thy sweet rainbow's end
was not my fate
nature consoles my yearning
as only nature can,
skyward souvenir of thy love
arched majestically o'er clear blue heavens
resplendant, glorious, captivating
home to the fairies lullaby
Oh magician of my yesterdays
reminding me
of what might have been
soothe this aching heart.

I think this is my favorite of your stuff. You know when words can put you somewhere you've been before, gives you that shining eyes feeling. If that makes sense, I think it does?

Thank you, Declan :) Yes I love Keats, but I think my favourite would be W B Yeats, I love the mystique in his poems. Thanks again for commenting!
