Maggie-Dog & Zach-Rabbit (The Happy Days) Poem by John Carter Brown

Maggie-Dog & Zach-Rabbit (The Happy Days)

Rating: 5.0

It's Christmas time and all is fine
Another truce is holding fast,
No chasing round the room today
We've now made up at last.

We're now great friends, I can report,
And I just love that bunny,
And all that trouble that we had
Was really not so funny.

Zach now is most affectionate
Towards me, and it's sweet
When round the fire we cuddle up,
His ears flopped o'er my feet.

I watch his twitching whiskers
When he is fast asleep,
He really is so beautiful,
I love that bun' a heap.

And I am now Zach's guard-dog
And if anyone comes near
And tries to hurt or harm him
I will bite them on the ear.

For now we are the very best
Of buddies and I'm glad,
Zach told me that I'm quite the bestest
Friend he's ever had.

So now our lives together
Are as happy as can be,
I just hope he's got my present,
And it's underneath the tree.
