Machinespeak Poem by Neerada Suresh

Machinespeak

We are
a happy family.
Modern, machine savvy
we stay wired, connected
in-house, interstate, intercontinent.
Ashtasiddhi gifted,
weaving through wire entangled
frantic, frenetic
daily chores
official and domestic,
we chat
day or night
through internet, email
landline and mobile.
.
Gregarious,
our countless friends
we party
through Orkut, Face Book, My Space.
Whatssup.
Our carnal incarnations,
flamboyant fantasies,
work out through Avatar.

Face to face, strangers.
Unwired, tongue tied
we grope for words
like people in the dark.
We flee like ghosts
from faces, our fingers
itching, twitching
for machinespeak.
