Lying Poem by Justin Reamer

Lying

Ice cream consumed too quickly,
A shiver sent down the spine,
An ache of a heartbeat
Drumming at the wrong second;

The frozen headache throbs stronger
As the nauseating chill of ice
Constricts the esophagus,
Choking all the air out of the lungs
Until the moment of truth
Is erased forever.
