Lullaby Poem by Natalia Bakina

Lullaby

I would be your guard to save
Memories from shaded traces;
I would be a placid wave
To rock you in all-night embraces.

I would be a twilight muse
Sending you eternal codes
To drift among nocturnal views
And hear star-inspired odes.

I would be the slumberous blues
To make your restful stream run slower;
I would be restoring hues
To paint your sombre tension over.

I would be melodic dew
To drip in vows of love devotion,
To console and to subdue
Alchemy of dreamful motion.

I would be a somnolent veil
To wrap you in a tranquil haze;
I would be a silver tale,
To guide you into moonlight space.

I would be your waters deep
Flowing through a sacred gate -
The way you pass to fall asleep,
To dream and to reincarnate.

I would stir and melt the dark
To enchant its dusky flavour;
I would strike a starlit spark
To give you its lethargic savour.

I would whisper, calm and ease,
Soothe and balance it all out,
I would comfort and release,
Lull your sleep, serene and sound...

I would be your wake-up call
And good-morning tender kiss -
Let the playful daylight fall
To bathe you in its sheer bliss.
