Day or night,
No longer a difference.
It is all darkness.
The finery draped to avoid
The light,
Which damages
All in its path,
Full of vile benedictions
And bitter venerations
And exposure to the failures
Of a life -
Fecund,
Feral,
Feared,
Forsaken,
Forgotten.
Once carved by the sun
Now nothing.
Trapped by the burden
Of weighted blankets,
Dank demoralization
Deeply wedged
In darkness.
