Loving Eyes Poem by Tanya K.Tuomi

Loving Eyes

Who the hell told you were ugly?
Who the hell told you were dull?
Where this diffidence did come from?
I still can hear a little boy crying
Deep within a flourishing man
And fear in your eyes has never
Been gone
Poison of distrustfulness
It's still roaming your veins
Hesitation constricts your mouth
While you pull on the mask
Of the unflinching and mighty

I would like to seat beside you
Under a hundred years old
White willow
Its long grey hair
Would cover us from
The rest of the world
And I'd whisper right to your
Perfectly shaped ear
How much do I love thee
How irresistibly handsome you are
And how in these 20 years
No one came close to compare
To your shiny sincere smile
To your eyes full of universes
To your wisdom
And to your natural
Plainness
To your surprising
Immaculacy

And if you'd laugh at me
Saying
I'm blinded by love
I would be grateful
That I made you amused

But I know there's nothing
As true as my love is
Nothing
As tender and soft as
My loving lips
Nothing
As discerning as my
Loving eyes
