Lovestruck Poem by Vincent Feliciano

Lovestruck

Remember the time
not long ago
When lonely were
the days that passed?
But since I met you
all I wonder now is
How long my want may last

I thought I knew
where I could find my heart
Just remove the stone
from the grave
But an empty reply
in a silent accord
Showed my heart was revived
and taken as slave

By my virtue be
your beauty kind to my heart
Let it yield to me
your wayward love
Or be forever we apart

I weep like a willow,
sigh like a cloud
By the absence of your smile
my tears cry aloud

Though I fear to show
my feelings
My eyes will tell the tale
of a lonely lovestruck boy
Who found a lovers trail

Petty are the passions
of an innocent boy
When compared to
that of a man's
So may the distance of time
that stands between us
Be at the ends of
our own hands
