Wear your broken heart with pride
It is the badge of courage
It says you allowed yourself to love
It says you experienced true passion
No matter the cost
Never letting a rule
Replace what seemed real
With what was safe
You were never trapped by a clause
Only by a feeling you desired
To be real
Never regretting where you are now
Only the reality, that some things can’t last forever
The natural high of your youth
Can never be taken back with “I told you so”
Look back and search your mind
And know it was right, when so many
Thought the contrary
Wear it for the honor that so many others
Will never share, and dream about forever
And never let its presence
Interfere with its possible repetition
