Love Was In Your Eyes Poem by Elia Michael

Love Was In Your Eyes

There was a time when youth was mine,
When I had sparkle in my eyes
And life, oh life was so much fun,
And you and I and all did shine.

The golden lamp in heaven's blue
Is hidden from my dimming sight
And all is colourless and grey,
Ah but then, I remember you.

You cut through stormy darkened skies
With streaming rays of dazzling light.
Oh I remember it so well,
How love, yes love, was in your eyes.
