Love's In Open Doors Poem by Aanuoluwa Adebanjo

Love's In Open Doors

Behind the close doors have i been
For so long a time
Have heard about love
From miles away
But to me love's just a fantasy
Whose reality lies in my day-dreams
Perfect endings and happily ever after
Are for books and fairytales to me
I know i could be who ever i want to be
Just behind those doors
And doing things that i find pleasing
I could spend the whole day wishing life was a snowflake
That could have within my grasp in minute
Or dreaming i was a princess
Born in a castle with maids granting my every desires
Or writing all day like popular poets and writers
Simply expressing myself with a pen
And telling it all to a book
My precious dairy, which is always there to listen
And perhaps lay my hands on some works of art
Or sing all day like barbie in cartoons
But for a long time in forever
I decided more out of curiosity than adventure
To see beyond the closed doors
And guess what i found?
Love, right in open doors!
And for a long time in forever
Life made much sense
And the real realities set in
And then i knew that when the doors a closed
Love is shut
True and real love lies in open doors
