Love's Fallout Poem by Marie LaFosse

Love's Fallout

Here, sitting
in the cold dark moonlight
My heart no longer beats
because I fell in love with you

Warmth of laugher
can't warm a cold unfeeling heart
Tears burn and fall
as pieces of descending stars

Hurting, I should've known
how easily you'd find another
The aftermath of fading dreams
believing love is what could hold you

Pained aftershocks move my emotions
repercussions, as I watch you walk away
Consequences...
for falling in love
with you
