Love Remains After Goodbye Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Love Remains After Goodbye

Rating: 5.0

Love is not a promise
You say love is a lie
Love is not a victory
Love is not to question and ask why
Love is not intended
To break a heart or make it cry
Love is the a hope a wish a dream
a bright lofty vision in the sky
but today love is a lost hope
a hole in my chest
and a salty full tear
that glazes all the light
and all the world goes silent
as it spills over the lid of my eye
Yesterday love was everything
but now it's sadness
as I feel you letting go
and saying goodbye
Don't tell me love isn't real
Don't tell me love is a lie
Love is only for those who care
Who had the courage to believe
and dreams enough to try
