Love Of My Love Poem by Bethany Carmen Sirip

Love Of My Love

Rating: 4.0

You have given me a necklace of hope
Your love keeps me on this rising slope
At times the string threatens to break
But this engagement ring strengthens my faith

Our land is diverse, hundreds of different tongues we speak
Our cultures differ significantly that we are unique
From the highlands you stand, fierce like your father,
Strong, dark, commands respect
From the islands I’m tanned, pierced ears like my mother,
Long, black, sand specked hair

Your name means to hear, to be heard
So without fear and I am undeterred
For you’re my diamond, I’ll hold fast, safe in my heart
Oh my Simon, we will last, never to part
