But there are different kinds of love;
and with it an assortment of sorrow and pain -
varying in degree
rivaling depth of poured emotion
cutting deep as it can reach
scarring as much as it's allowed

And there come the various shades of hurt;
but with it a collage of resistance and surrender -
teasing in its irony
mixing chords of passion and hatred
marring clarity of sentiments
scarring as much as it's allowed
