Love Contrast Poem by Jaipal Singh

Love Contrast

An old friend of mine-
He is feisty, humorous
And quick-witted always
So I asked him other day
To narrate love contrast
In it's success and failure!

Piquant and chucklesome
He responded as ever -
With unsuccessful love
The lover inevitably turns to
Perpetual Poetry and Shayari
To recite and ordain Mehfils
Roams around from place to place
Mapping hills, deserts and oceans
Tasting exotic cuisine everywhere
And not to forget daily hot drinks
With the classy whisky and wine…

On the other hand
An accomplished lover
Spends rest of the life
In scheming all the time
How to secure free green chillis
& coriander leaves from the vendor
Negotiate with not so friendly grocer
Then care and carry child with bags
While his beloved is on shopping spree
Absolutely unaware of the romantic love
When died in this awful and chronic routine.
