Love Poem by Garrett Bradley

Love

I've heard love is patient and kind
It does not envy nor is it complacent
It is not rude nor selfish
It is not provoked
It does not cheer in evil, but in truth
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things
I've heard it never fails

I've heard love gives
It looks out for the next person
It gives out one's best even when they deserve one's worst
Some have a little
Some have a lot
I've heard we must share it with those who have none

But love has not been so kind to me
Love has beaten me
Love has abused me Love has almost killed me
Love has never looked out for me
Nobody has ever shared love with me
Am I part of a prophecy in which love fails
For love has failed me

But should I heed the fool's advice
Is it wise to be rough with love
For although love has pricked me
I still must love
