Love

the desert night stretches
it's worn muscles over the
valley whilst the stars
cannibalize each other
and whiskey drowns the air
as I lay on the side of this
broken path on the mountain,
freezing waters make the heart
stop and breathing cease and
put into perspective-
it all.
in the silent night where
no other humans to be found,
I felt love.
