Lost Within Poem by Gracian Balendran

Lost Within

Oh I feel that there is something
Something getting away from me
Where could it go, though I feel it right within me?
Yet I don’t see it,
And I can’t touch it.
It becomes visible in my dreams
So visible, that I think,
I could have it in my hands,
However when morning breaks
It fades away.
So I go from place to place asking everyone,
To at least show me,
So I could catch it;
Yet they reply “we don’t see anything mate”
I reply “I see it in my dreams”
Do the best I can, it’s all in vain for
Each time I get so close it gets
Yet so far from me;
So everyday I try to grasp that thing,
That flees away right within.Oh I feel that there is something
Something getting away from me
Where could it go, though I feel it right within me?
Yet I don’t see it,
And I can’t touch it.
It becomes visible in my dreams
So visible, that I think,
I could have it in my hands,
However when morning breaks
It fades away.
So I go from place to place asking everyone,
To at least show me,
So I could catch it;
Yet they reply “we don’t see anything mate”
I reply “I see it in my dreams”
Do the best I can, it’s all in vain for
Each time I get so close it gets
Yet so far from me;
So everyday I try to grasp that thing,
That flees away right within.
