Lost, Not Found Poem by Gabriel Rodriguez

Lost, Not Found

Once in a life time

These feelings that came
When she came my way
Flew away at her call to the sky
I could only look on as they would fly

Missing!
Missing!

Amber alert is signaled
Posters all over the city
She left a hole in my center
Scattered in the sky to get me

Sun shine has grown so cold
Melancholy growing from prose
My poetry just won't let go
Where is my world?

Pictures of her and I
She left with these photos
She burned all the videos
Why'd she let go?

You're all I remember
Stories lost to the cancer
My present dismantled
Heartbroken and dismembered

I know your son is looking for me
We can't forget what we had
I know he wants you with me
Although I'm not his dad

You stabbed me with the rose
Last memories at the ceremony
He stared as you and I spoke
Then held my hand and hugged me

Now everything is filled with sobs
I'm looking for everything I've lost
But it's gone, but it's gone

Why did you leave me?
Why did you leave me?
You're missing...
You're missing...

My darling, my darling
Forgot me, forgot me

Taken away from me
Stepping away from me
Don't leave...
Don't leave...
