Lost Inside Ourselves Poem by Jennifer. R. Hutchison

Lost Inside Ourselves

We close our eyes,
Begin to dream,
And open them in screaming.
We find ourselves in lonely valleys -
Rally's of the heart.

Where are we now?
Passion for all knowing
When knowing means no passion?

We scientifically understand,
Landly in our souls.
We count the peices of our love,
And question where it comes from.

Our space for love is openly so,
But our standards and expectations
Limit us in any way,
I say -
Limit us in every way!

We know what we have,
And keep it close,
Dose and dose again...
A drug that we can't get off of.
Our minds we hold so firm and strong,
We restrict ourselves in dreams long gone.

We wish our minds an open canyon:
A clear stream running through.

So we ask the questions.
Get the clarity.
And yet -
Hazier and hazier our streams become!

We scream for Love!
We scream for Passion!
We scream for Knowing some thing!
When all along we know the thing
Which gives us most clarity...

The stream will never be clear.
Our hearts will never tame.
We'll never understand the way of life -
The meaning of life...
The meaning of love.

So we plea.

We plead for feelings some thing.
We plead for feeling numb.
We plead for ignorance -
We plead for innocence.

So now, I ask
Where do we stand -
In this valley here,

The view we see
When we dream...

Why do we wake up screaming?

Yeah there's a lot to explore inside ourselves. Good work.
