Lost Poem by Sandy Brady Breault

Lost

Rating: 5.0

Inspiration fails me, no motivation to put my thouughts into words. Is my passion for life gone? How sad that would be for me. Roses no longer have that sweet aroma that they once did. Light rain on my face now reminds me of tears, when not long ago, it reminded me of natures remarkable beauty

Does the sun not shine as bright as it once did?
Isn't the sky missing some of its stars when night falls upon us?
At one time I couldn't define when the ocean ended and the sky began.
The birds don't soar as high as they once did, do they?

Laughter doesn't come as easy as it once did
Where did that carefree spirit go that I had when I was a kid?
Life hardens you no matter what you do to try and stop it
So many regrets, even if I could change just part of it

But doesn't life's experiences help us to grow?
We all have lessons to learn. The end result, only the Lord will know.

Did you know that He knows how many strands of hair are on our heads?
It's amazing He still loves us even though we don't listen to a word He says

True beauty and happiness can only come from one place
His outpouring of love for all us sinners, and the gift He gives of His divine grace
He loves us so much that He gave up His only son
Do you think Jesus died on that cross so we could continue our pattern of destructive fun?

Would you be nailed to a cross with blood running down your face?
Would you let strangers spit on you to try to make you feel shame and disgrace?

He could have come down from that cross and never felt any pain
But he knew if he did, death we would all gain.

If someone said to you, 'A decision, a decision you must now make, your son's life for all the world's people to live, his life i must now take.'
You would say to that person, 'Have you lost your mind? I don't care if the whole world is dead, you are not touching one strand of hair on my sons head.'

So I guess the point I'm trying to get across is
This really isn't our life to live, our life should have always been His
