Lost Poem by Nathalie Parnell

Lost

The narrow boat capsized
the frail hands outstreched
he hollered and waved
the waves conquered his strength
one distant journey he did not make
he did it all for my sake
grasping for air
he held on for love
for life
for me
such failed efforts and broken dreams....
going under the restless sea.
