Loss Poem by Phil Soar

Loss

'I'm sorry for your loss', they said
I don't know what they mean
the body has gone, the person too
No longer to be seen
the soul is missing, along with mine
the heart stopped beating
in harmony with time
the blank expression, feeds sympathy
we don't need that to set us free
we just need space, and that's because
it's more than what they said was a loss
