Losing A Loved One Poem by Ray Hansell

Losing A Loved One

At times when it seems darkest
Family and friends can provide the light
They will stand beside you
Letting you know, things will be alright

They'll greet you warmly with a hug
Their smile will comfort you
It seems in times of need
Family and friends know what to do

But when you are by yourself
A million emotions will come over you
All those people who were around
From now on you'll only see a few

The hardest part of losing someone
Is that space they use to fill
Now you're at home all alone
Feeling like you've lost your will

But as time slowly passes
Fond memories will move in
In the course of a day you'll stop and smile
Remembering how life had been

You miss him so very much
Every day that you awake
Because of all the love you felt for him
His memory you'll never forsake
