Lord Mary



the child in pink
that was eating Cheerios,
just reached
around her mother.
and brushed for a second
the blonde hair
resembling her own.
and with uncurled fingers
and eyes,
a crooked smile,
and my(eyes)
i saw her point to Mary
and the star of the sea.

i shifted my focus
then, to my black foot
pivoting
on the winterish floor
grinding salt into salt.
somebody told me we had to leave.
so we stood up, and left
