Lord Forgive Me Poem by Octavia Tisdale

Lord Forgive Me

Rating: 4.5

Lord forgive me, for I have sinned
I’ve taking the most precious asset of your creation
And turned it into mayhem and disbelief
I’ve been mean and stubborn to those above me
I’ve been reckless and thoughtless of those who gave me
I’ve looked down on those who bestowed me
But most of all I’ve forgotten to believe
Not only in you but most of all in myself
I’ve let this unhealthy world steer me in
And I too have fallen victim to sin
But most important I’ve forgotten to give
Those little bit of faith and embrace the beauty of life within
To endure all of man and its beauty of life
But I have looked down and became that part of strife
That I’ve fought all my life of not to become
But yet I’m here now dying on the inside
Because life is unbearable on the out
But I finally realize that there’s so much more
Than just being happy and poor or having gone without
Now I see it’s not what I got or what I want
But it’s that breathe I take everyday that gives me the chance to awake
Now I can be happy and thankful for all I got
Because nothing in this world is more important than life

There is beauty in a confession, it is a cleansing of one's soul albeit until the next error, sin or whatever one chooses to call it. The intriguing part about it is that noone can cast a stone at you, for the 'Greatest Man Who Ever Lived' put it plainly, 'Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone'... you don't even have to cover your face because no one's throwing anything. Whether this is just something you chose to write about or your own experience, it's a bold move that paid dividends... keep writing dear friend... Be Well

Well I've never read a confssion before, much less tried to comment on one. The thing that stands out about this to me is the comprehensiveness of the confession. She seems to be confessing everything. I guess that's what ought to be done. GW62
