Long John And Joan Silver Keep Bobbing Along Poem by Shaun Cronick

Long John And Joan Silver Keep Bobbing Along

Rating: 5.0

Long John Silver or is it Long Joan Silver?
Have many a time haunted PH's fabled Treasure Island.
So constantly back and fore over the salty years,
His disguises now threadbare by his own two-faced hand.

He'll bob here and he'll bob there,
Poets just can't keep a bad bob down.
But bob will one day slanderously sink,
In a sea of his own hate he will drown.

Brilliantly realised, acerbic poem Shaun...most amusing! I love the words, ' salty years'..and ' two - faced hands; '.very imaginative. Apparently, his or her poetic parrot is thinking of going solo...should be fun to see what happens next. Anyway, it's a yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum inspired 10 from me!
