Lonely Soul In A Crowd Poem by Mohini Gurav

Lonely Soul In A Crowd

Lights flashed from different
Perspectives capturing
the wonderful moments.
It added glory to the materialistic
World and meaningful joy
to everyone’s interests and investments.

Lot of smiles exchanged with
Handshakes, greetings and wishes
Some genuine smiles and some fake
Easily understood them needed no translations
A vacuum in the heart still unnecessary prevailed
Without any reason and unmoved motivation.

My soul was wandering in search
of a known soul so purely modest
Oh Sad! Saw him standing
in the materialistic race of contest.
Entangled never to be emancipated.
Real defeat of oneself under the pretext of conquest.

This selfish crowd changed his attitude
Helplessly he got swayed away
Showing off his high profile designation
and rendering so called sincere gratitude
with all sorts of dedication and passion.
Shockingly I saw a stranger in him
Who to me was sheer unknown.

Ego and Pride sail hand in hand
where there is abundance of
Popularity, greed and
desire to have too many possessions.
Lonely soul turned away
Without any remorse or frustration
And quietly moved to a peaceful destination.
