Lonely March Poem by Asma Khan

Lonely March

Why I left you alone
though truth was never shown

every step I walked was heavy
paying my life for the dream's levy

wasn't it strong enough to burn the sun
no matter the fire was equal to none

wipe those tears with my departure
for there is no more torture

I stood alone on that windy night
and there was no one to share my fright

Come past these ugly days of separation
for this was the destiny of our relation

I shall blame no one of any loss
for I was given no option to toss

I promise to remain lonely after you
to sew the wounds if you ever knew
