Little Billy Poem by jeanne harmon

Little Billy

Little Billy did not go to school today
His parents do not know what to say
The world crashed beneath him they say
He seemed to keep all his feelings away
He would smile a smile
Every once and a while
Other than that all his smiles were fake
Little Billy never wanted to talk about it
It was hard enough just to make him sit
Little Billy was a straight A student
He never wanted to hurt anyone
Then he made the wrong friends
After that he never made amends
He didn’t feel the world crash beneath him
It must have been the drugs that numbed his fall
He didn’t realize it before when he had it all
Little Billy went to a party, got high and began to drive
Crashed in the river and was found not to be alive
Now Little Billy will never come out to play
…. At least that’s what they say
