Listen To The Wind Poem by Sonia Walker

Listen To The Wind

Rating: 5.0

Listen to the wind when its
hush transforms into twirls
of laughter while dancing with
the gods till the break of dawn,
pushed aside by the serene but
mighty queen, the golden sun,
who claims the day.

Listen to the wind who insists
on howling and disturbing the spirits
of the dell by waking them from
their ghostly dreams and forcing
them to flitter above the treetops,
weaving in agitation at the intrepid
bluster while cursing its proximity of force.

Listen to the wind whose anger turns
into rage while defying all who block its
savage path and roars as if a lion
chasing its prey till it drops from fatigue,
joyful in its feast of destruction,
satiated for the moment until its hunger
bellows again.
