Listen For The Birds Poem by Pam Planet

Listen For The Birds

I don't know what to say,
I don't know what to say
Maybe I will Listen...
....and Follow
the Ones
with Clearest Voice
Of All!

Maybe I will go back
to hear the birds
in the morning

Maybe the sky will fall!
the trees will still roar and crack
maybe not.. my darkest night
has come to pass?
and I have seen some very bad!

Maybe I struggle for the words to say
and can hardly believe my shame
but I will remain only human
and light my candle
and try to explain
Hope is a poem!

I was inside my body sick
sometimes we need see!
listen beyond the poison
the prison someone is in
and those words may hurt our ears!
what soul is trying to say
it is stressful work
in dysfunctional family
and I am only one
..composing apology

I am awake now
and listening for the birds
struggling for their clarity
their love is all..they have invested

See the man on the street
what should he write
on his cardboard
words of apology?
for his disgrace

If our eyes could speak?

How can the shelters
reteach humanity
at the bottom of the bucket

I met a bird... a fragile, sweet voice
honesty.. for love is respectful!
..learned in ancient family
... but not without need
I lost a few pennies in his wishing well
more important we had a conversation
made my heart swell!

How many birds come
live in on our streets below city lights
shunned away
in and out of cages
found dead on the sidewalk?

Take some time to listen
to the birds... where they come
why here and why now
where else can they go
for me? their voice will save
my poisoned soul!

My favourite day they wake me up!
joyfully, happily ready to go!
just outside my window!
