Lighthouse Poem by Casey Jarrell

Lighthouse

I'm sitting at this lighthouse while the moonlight shines on my face.
When you reach for me, you'd take me into your embrace.
When the world starts spinning, I start grinning as the stars shine in space.
When I look into your eyes, they shine like the lighthouse.

By the sea under the moon, I sing the melody that waits just for you.
Is it really true that we shine just like the stars in your eyes?

I'm sitting at this lighthouse while the moonlight shines on my face.
When you reach for me, you'd take me into your embrace.
When the world starts spinning, I start grinning as the stars shine in space.
When I look into your eyes, they shine like the lighthouse.

When the stars shine down on me, I feel like I am floating on angel wings.
In the middle of the night, I am gifted with the song that you sing.

I'm sitting at this lighthouse while the moonlight shines on my face.
My love keeps growing as you sing for me.
When the stars start shining, I start flying across the graceful sea.
I look into your eyes and I see the lighthouse.
