Light And Dark Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Light And Dark

Light to Dark:

'You are my grieving Widower
cringing there
abandoned by even
your own shadow
remorsed;
while I stand in Blazing Energy
fascinated by your opaqueness;
sure that at one time
we were married;
one we were
Tumultuous Destinies
entwined;
but you
you do not recognize me
sure I am the Stranger
Bright my Light
you Silent Night.

I take your hand;
you cringe
singed by Light's Touch;
to you
I am Threat
you prefer
your dark
because to emerge
from it
would be the Delicious Death

exposed
unseenness
now a futile triumph
your contrast
to me blinding;
while I seem to myself ephemeral
lacking substance
contrasted with you
whose Dark Thickness
seems grave.

Cast me here your invisible hand
I shall light it
even as I savor it's gravitas
its forbidden natures
because I
Light
could not exist
without you
your constant contrast
where between we two
Meaning is Created.
Opposite attract?
Or more,
no Yin
with Yang.

What good Light
without the Dark
and mysterious
and who would I
Light be
without first passage through
Your Dark
to the other side?

We kiss
you and I
each eventide;
Twilight
our tryst
before
separating once each day,
I awaiting the sun
you succor the moon
each of us
separated into our saperate natures now
each hoping
for the other one
to reach
back
when another
twilight
comes
opposites hearts
consuming.
