Life's Skies Of Blue Poem by Smoky Hoss

Life's Skies Of Blue

I saw the sun come alive this morning
turning the sky from deep-gray to sweet-blue,
I thought to myself,
yeah... me too -
A wind gust
came blowing by,
it waved the trees, and
we both said, 'hi' -
Like the wind
we're all just passing through,
moving clouds around
in life's boundless skies of blue -

Gave my watch to an old drunkard
passing by, asking for the time,
gave a dollar to the guy on the corner
looking for a dime -
Heard a bird overhead
sing the world's greatest tune,
a sweet little reminder
we'll all be moving on, very soon -

I went to bed late
on this clear, cool night,
outside my window hung a full moon
glowing upon everything, serene and bright -
I pondered long
on such a simple view,
then I thanked God for daily
making all things new -
Like the Wind
we're all just passing through,
moving clouds around
in life's boundless skies of blue -
