Life's Flowing River Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Deep among rocks water begins to trickle,
Seeping to flow --- life begun as a stream
Mysterious, surprising, hopeful for what will come.
Baby born, nourished, supported to flourish,
Life ahead forward towards welcoming sea.
Stream cascades, overcoming crisis and barriers
Continuing without pause --- soul surviving
Passing through childhood growing in strength
Learning ways of the heart and intellect of the mind
Questing for answers, seeking God's kingdom
Making friends, ambitions filled, parents so proud
Flow becoming mighty rushing river
Surging towards estuary embracing the sea
Where river blends with ocean of eternal love.
