Lifeboat Poem by Rose Tyson

Lifeboat

Rating: 3.5

you were my lifeboat
but I needed to be
on the shore and you
were pulling me farther out to sea
and I knew you weren't good
for me but I was afraid
that I couldn't swim
and it wasn't until
I finally jumped overboard
that I realized
I never needed you
you were holding me back
