Life's Search For Love Poem by Joseph Blitch

Life's Search For Love

Rating: 5.0

From cradle to grave we are on one quest,
Until the search is over we'll have no rest,
You find pictures of couples in an embrace,
I ask, What is the reason, What's the case?
We may see frequent hugging and kissing,
Within this affection something is missing,
In an effort to solve this enigmatic mystery,
I considered matter pertinent to it in history,
Diligently I searched, Everywhere I did look,
Under the subject of love found a good book,
With a teaching about love; ancient not new.
Do unto others as you would them do to you;
The Creator gifted the world His true Love;
For all sin to die; sent from Heaven above;
A life lived wholly pure and without any sin.
Caring for strangers like they were truly kin;
Someone laying down his life; for another die,
Could this be love? Truth or just another lie?
Shouldn't we do something his life to replace;
Following his love; Living our life in his place.
