Life's Road

A line from a song
a word from a time
A quote from a guy
a fragment from the past
memories of the future
Looking into the unknown
this is
what we are
we are pre-determined

as a child
we explore and learn

as a teenager
we defy, hate, and follow

these things that we live by
bring us to maturity
these things that we were made from

into an adult
we reason and wonder
is there anything after life

lemme bring you up to speed
on this sweet sacrifice
and then you
Won’t be able to
wait for this after-life

and you can take the plunge
Into the unknown

Poem of the Day

poet Pablo Neruda

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
