Life Happened Poem by Paul Reed

Life Happened

From the days of youth and then contentment
With excitement easing down a notch or two
Maybe a bit slower into the bends of life
But still not in shades of blue

But nothing lasts forever so they say
Things change out of all recognition
Gone are the days of forward planning
Up the steep hill of ambition

What happened to change all of this?
What made it all go to pot?
Then the answer was whispered to me
'Life happened, that's what'
