Life Poem by Juan Olivarez

Life

Rating: 5.0

As you make your way in this big world,
And as you start to slowly grow.
Many lives before you will unfurl,
So many folks you'll get to know.

So many hearts will touch your soul,
People from all walks of life.
Some will be tin, some will be gold,
Bringing you happiness, bringing you strife.

We are all destined to feel great love,
And sorrow follows right behind.
They go together, like hand and glove,
They really are two of a kind.

Somebody you've known all your days,
A friend, a lover, that special one.
One morning you'll find they've gone away,
Their days are finally over, finally done.

Great love, great sorrow brings,
You cannot separate the two.
They come from the maker of all things,
There's nothing anyone can do.

So learn to cope early in life,
And take the good times with the bad.
Some lose a husband or a wife,
You will be happy, but also sad.

So take the good times, when they come,
But know sorrow cuts like a knife.
There will be sadness until we're done,
You know my friend, thats only life.
