Lies Poem by Tsunami HiroshiSu

Lies

Did you ever really mean those things you said to me?
Did you ever really mean the things you said?
No, I don't suppose you did
But then
Neither did I
I guess you should have trusted me
I never trusted you
They say you cannot love with out truth
Should've been you can't love without lies
I've never told so many lies
Beautiful sweet honeyed truth
Twisted to show how I wanted you to see me
The lies just got bigger
Wilder
And I fell down a hole deeper and deeper
A rabbit hole not even Alice could make it out of
The lies were made to hold two people together
The lies tore two people apart
And bitter truth took the place of those sweet
Lies
They were all you told me
But did I want to hear the truth?
No, I don't suppose I did
Why learn the truth and find your just like all the rest
When I can pretend you are a mystery
Waiting to be discovered
Why do we keep pretending?
Keep lying when the stories never check out

I still think your lies are beautiful
