Lies Poem by Leslie Ching

Lies

Rating: 4.0

Don't believe her!
No matter how innocent she looks,
How much she pleads,
All that sprouts from her mouth
Are lies.

Don't ever trust
Those deceptive eyes,
That quivering mouth,
That angelic face;
Behind it all
Are cunning schemes.

A little white one there,
And a nice black one there,
She cherry-picks for lies.
Who'd notice
Just a few today
And a couple tomorrow?

Each day is filled
A couple tall tales
And one or two fibs;
They've imbedded their way
Into every single day
Of her wretched existence.

Like a basket
Woven of straw,
Her life
Is woven
Of lies.
