Letting Go Poem by Bancroft Boreland

Letting Go

Rating: 5.0

In this prison for broken hearts
I am surrounded by walls made of tears
I am a criminal whose only crime
was falling in love with you
but you left me to be in the arms of another
I hate you and yet I cannot love another
now my heart is at the morgue in a body bag
I feel like I’ve lost something I never had
I still love you and I know that’s wrong
but yet it feels so right
now i sit here counting the countless days
hoping that somehow my love for you will fade

they say a heart is as frail as a bubble
its made of millions of delicate pieces
and love is the clue that keeps
those pieces together.
