Let Them Tell Of Us Poem by Bosun Abdul

Let Them Tell Of Us

Any where they see
Let them tell of us
Wherever they know
Let them sing our report.

The head does not pain
The shell. The liver does
Not ache the snail

Cold does not inflict the
Fish in the benthic. Forward;
Forward is where the rod
Of a trap flips. In and out is

The way of the hand to the
Mouth. It is with impunity
That the feet tread the path.

Whichever grass the elephant
Tramples, it does with absolute
Defense. The cover of bitter kola
Conceals the secret of bitter kola
The pill of kola nut reveals not the
Secret of kola nut. The epicarp of
Alligator pepper enshrouds the
Secret of alligator pepper.

We divined for the haters

They raise warpath
They bring conflagration
They start prejudices

They sent for the infamy
They employ the necromancer
They hold pestle and goad

They must bring the castle of
Luxury down, they say – if the
Rat must not eat the sauce, it shall
Be discarded

Orunmila put the charm of authority
Upon his lip and chant: no needle shall
Refute the word of the cloth. A frog
Shall never disdain the call of river
Let the world not reject our words.
Wherever they see let them tell of us.
