Let Them See The Mess We Became Poem by Cory Felgrieve

Let Them See The Mess We Became

Rating: 2.5

high hang, drift around.
laze about,
watch diamonds flickering in the rafters,
like stars way back when.
indulge yourself,
in the colors of the nova,
gracefully paint the infinite skies.

remember way back
way, way back
way back then
when
you could feel the gravity
beneath your feet
when everything you saw, you could
taste
feel
touch?
remember when things felt real
and you could breathe in the air
and kiss the rain?

remember the days when the radio told us the weather?
and remember the winter, fall, spring and summer?

i can't live today when i dont want to live tommorow...
tommorow is never better.
we lay around bored out of mind
ever since that gorgeous day

heaven and earth are at war now
people saying faith would always win
now look at us
endlessly riding this dream of earth...

I remember one day apart from the rest
this time the radio told us
'Tell your loved ones you love them,
and run, take cover'
and the earth lit up colors.
colors we could only describe with words like toxic
and then,
basking in these colors
humanity was beautifully annihilated
silently forgotten, in the hues of time.
